Alex Pretti

This weekend we lost another kind, gentle soul. He was killed by ICE. Alex, along with Renee before him, was out supporting our Minnesota community, looking out for our neighbors. It looks like the last thing that Alex did was to try to help another person, who had been pushed to the ground by ICE agents. Many tributes by family, friends and those who met him through his work as an ICU nurse at the VA have been coming in.

I know you have probably already seen this video, but I want to post it here as a tribute to Alex. It speaks to who he really was.

When we are inundated by the lies of the Trump administration, who seem to be intent on smearing an innocent man in order to cover their own incompetence and lack of moral character, we must remind ourselves of the good in the world. It is the good in America which is what really made this country great. Something we should not forget.

RIP Alex.

I'm curious about who started shouting "gun, gun" when Pretti's gun was already in the hands of a federal agent halfway 'cross the street.

Yes, rather like waiving a red flag at a bull.

Different theory.  There's a habit amongst a certain type of cop to start yelling "gun, gun, gun" after they decide they've had enough of some bastard who's not proving sufficiently afraid of them.  It makes it easier to later claim that they thought they were defending themselves.  (And, if they get lucky, they might even find a gun in the vicinity later--and if they're not lucky they might create some luck--some of them keep their own "drop" guns for use as convenient.)
I want to know who started yelling about the gun after it was gone.  It may be that the gun we've seen was Pretti's gun.  Probably was, but I'm not certain of that yet.  Anybody know to whom it was last registered?  Why aren't the folks from ICE harping on Pretti's gun habits?

"President Donald Trump’s MAGA base, known for its aversion
to U.S. involvement in foreign wars, has embraced the
administration’s aggressive use of military force abroad and
      would strongly support more.
"A new POLITICO poll reveals 65 percent of Trump voters
support the U.S. taking military action against at least one of
several potential target countries, including Iran, Greenland,
      Cuba, Colombia, China and Mexico."

I fear we can expect similar conversions on the question of Trump's use of military force against protestors within the United States.
But, in the meantime:  Trump is ratcheting up the rhetoric with regards to Iran.

I just listened to Homan speak. Not impressed. Very much pandering to Trump and MAGA. We'll see...

Homan isn't there to impress you.  He's on a mission to impress Trump.

It sounds like they arrested Don Lemon and another Minnesota journalist for their presence at the protest at a church in Minnesota. Apparently covering protests in a church is now illegal.

Word is going around that the video showing Pretti kicking a taillight and possibly spitting on an agent was doctored by AI.

Word is also going around that the feds are tracking the users of that Signal app who are using it to organize responses to ICE activity. Wasn't that the same app Hegseth used when he talked to his wife and others about classified operations?

Oops, poor wording there. Not "another" Minnesota journalist. "A" Minnesota journalist. That wording implies Don Lemon is from Minnesota, which I don't think is the case. We would be happy to claim him, but it wouldn't be accurate.
